Archiving & Digital Preservation Policy
Journal of Informatics (JOOFIN) — Association of Informatics and Software Universe (AISU)
Journal of Informatics (JOOFIN) is committed to the permanent availability and long-term preservation of scholarly research. To ensure that published content remains accessible to the international scientific community in perpetuity, JOOFIN utilizes multi-tier archiving systems, repository self-archiving permissions, and persistent identifier mechanisms.
Long-Term Archiving Systems (LOCKSS & CLOCKSS)
JOOFIN utilizes digital archiving systems to create permanent, distributed archiving systems among participating libraries, allowing those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.
- PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): Provides free preservation services for OJS journals. JOOFIN content is automatically preserved in the PKP PN.
- LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Open Journal Systems (OJS) supports the LOCKSS system to guarantee long-term digital preservation.
- CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe): Ensures long-term dark archiving of all published volumes.
Author Self-Archiving Policy
JOOFIN permits and encourages authors to archive their work in institutional, subject-based repositories, or open platforms. Our self-archiving policy is aligned with Sherpa/RoMEO standards:
| Version | Status | Allowed Repository Location |
|---|---|---|
| Preprint (Author's Original Version) |
Allowed | Any preprint server (e.g., arXiv, TechRxiv, Authorea, Research Square, institutional server) at any time. |
| Postprint (Accepted Manuscript) |
Allowed | Author's personal website, institutional repository, or subject repository upon acceptance. |
| Published Version (Publisher's PDF / Version of Record) |
Allowed | Institutional repository, Zenodo, ResearchGate, Academia.edu, or personal website immediately after publication (with full citation and DOI link). |
Data & Code Archiving (Informatics Special Policy)
In accordance with open science practices in Computer Science and Informatics, authors are strongly encouraged to deposit underlying research data, source code, experimental models, and datasets in FAIR-compliant (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) repositories.
- Recommended Code/Data Repositories: Zenodo, Figshare, IEEE DataPort, GitHub (archived with Zenodo DOI), or Kaggle.
- Data Availability Statement: All manuscripts must include a section describing where data and artifacts supporting the results can be found.
Persistent Identifiers & Website Backup
- Digital Object Identifier (DOI): Every published article is assigned a persistent DOI via Crossref to ensure permanent reference resolution.
- ORCID Integration: Authors' ORCID iDs are archived together with metadata to maintain author attribution integrity.
- Server Redundancy: The publisher (AISU) performs automated daily offsite database backups and weekly full-site backups to protect against platform downtime or data loss.
Indexing & Metadata Distribution
Metadata of all published articles is automatically harvested and preserved in international scientific indexing platforms, including:
• Scopus (Elsevier) • Crossref • Google Scholar • Garuda • Dimensions • BASE • OpenAIRE
