Author Guidelines

Scope fit. Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Graph Algorithms and Network Optimization must make their primary scholarly contribution within the journal's stated aims and narrow technical scope. Papers that only apply an established tool to a local case without transferable computing knowledge may be desk rejected.

Research quality. The manuscript must state the research problem, gap, novelty, methods, baselines or comparison conditions, evaluation protocol, limitations, and the significance of the findings. Claims must be supported by reproducible evidence, formal analysis, controlled experiments, appropriate statistics, or rigorous qualitative methods as relevant to the research design.

International scholarship. Authors should position the work against current international literature and explain how the contribution advances knowledge beyond one institution, city, dataset, or deployment. References must be accurate, traceable, and directly relevant.

Reproducibility and transparency. Data, source code, prompts, models, configurations, protocols, and analysis scripts should be shared when legally and ethically possible. When materials cannot be shared, authors must explain the restriction and provide sufficient methodological detail for independent assessment.

Research integrity. Human- or participant-related studies require appropriate consent and ethics oversight where applicable. Authors must disclose funding, competing interests, prior dissemination, and material use of generative AI. Generative AI may not be listed as an author and may not be used to fabricate data, citations, results, or peer-review content.

Language and presentation. Submissions must use clear scholarly English, a self-contained abstract, informative figures and tables, consistent terminology, and complete references. The journal may return manuscripts that do not meet basic reporting and presentation standards before peer review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The manuscript is within this journal's stated narrow aims and scope and makes a clear, original computing contribution.
  • The work is not published elsewhere and is not under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
  • The abstract, keywords, methods, results, limitations, conclusions, tables, figures, and references are complete and internally consistent.
  • Claims are supported by appropriate baselines, experiments, formal analysis, statistical analysis, or rigorous qualitative evidence as relevant.
  • References have been checked for accuracy and traceability, and citations are used for scholarly relevance rather than citation manipulation.
  • Data, code, models, configurations, prompts, or protocols required to assess reproducibility are provided when legally and ethically possible, or restrictions are explained.
  • All authors meet authorship criteria and have approved the submission. Funding and competing interests are disclosed.
  • Human-subject, personal-data, security, or sensitive-data research includes appropriate ethical safeguards, consent, approvals, or responsible disclosure where applicable.
  • Any material use of generative AI is transparently disclosed. AI tools are not listed as authors and have not been used to fabricate citations, data, results, or reviewer content.
  • Permission has been obtained for copyrighted third-party figures, datasets, or other materials not covered by permitted quotation or licensing.

Articles

Original research articles within the defined aims and scope of Journal of Graph Algorithms and Network Optimization. Submissions must present a clear research question or formal claim, identifiable novelty, rigorous methodology, transparent evidence, and conclusions supported by reproducible analysis. Local implementations without generalizable computing contribution may be desk rejected.
